A Relaxed Same-Sex Wedding at Castlefield Rooms, Manchester

| Manchester Wedding Photographer |

Some weddings just feel like a big hug from start to finish – and Barry & Stuart’s day at the Castlefield Rooms in Manchester was exactly that. Two amazing guys, surrounded by all their favourite people, having the best time. Honestly, it was a dream to photograph.

The day started off at Barry & Stuart’s home, where they got ready together surrounded by their closest friends and family.

It was full of laughs & happy nerves. There was a real sense of excitement as they exchanged thoughtful gifts before getting ready for the big day.

I always love these moments, they always make for some of my favourite photographs– nothing staged, just natural and full of emotion.

Afterwards, it was time to get suited and booted.

With all the guests having set off to the venue, we had a few mins to chill & have a drink in the garden.

Castlefield Rooms is such a brilliant Manchester wedding venue, and it suited their day perfectly.

Really relaxed and informal, with loads of space to mingle with their guests.

The ceremony was relaxed but so full of meaning, with readings from close friends and family that had everyone smiling.

One of the best men may or may not have misplaced a wedding ring....

After the “I do’s,” we headed outside for a confetti moment with the city skyline in the background. There’s something about mixing wedding celebrations with Manchester’s urban backdrop that just works.

We followed that up with a champagne pop shot with their wedding party – which, let’s be honest, is always a crowd-pleaser.

Afterwards, we took a little time for couple portraits around the venue, making the most of the industrial architecture that make this part of Manchester so unique for wedding photography.

The speeches were an absolute highlight – filled with humour, stories, and emotion.

Stuart’s brother and Barry’s oldest friend had everyone laughing (and a few happy tears too!).

With the sun setting, we took a minute to head back out for a few more couple portraits.

I love the "'ere she is" boat, and the city skyline looks incredible at night

The evening kicked off with a cake cut, followed by Barry & Stuart’s first dance as newlyweds – a moment filled with love and joy.

It wasn’t long before the dance floor came alive, with guests celebrating late into the night.
